Several years ago, I stumbled across Anton Lorimer's work and immediately knew one day, he would work for me. I merely needed the money, and mostly, the reason to invest in his brilliance.
Chicago Palmer House wedding: Anne & Travis

My hire for Anne and Travis' wedding was an unusual circumstance. At least for me. Anne contacted me from San Diego while planning her wedding from 2,196 miles away.
How did she hear about me? Keith of Poetic Productions. We chatted for a short bit, and she booked over the phone. I was more or less stunned mainly because it is rare a photographer gets a rec from a videographer and then a simple, seamless booking via the phone.
Site unseen.
For the first time in my career, I get the chance to thank Keith for the kind words and direction he gave Anne. So, thanks again Keith! We all did have a great time, eh?

Hotel Intercontinental wedding: Jenni & Matt

Five years ago, I woke up with an entire body covered in hives. It was the morning of my step-brother's wedding held at the Tribeca Rooftop in Manhattan.
Five years ago, I made a pact to never photograph a friend's or relative's wedding again. I find the stress to perform and deliver too much for my little self to endure ever again. Plus, I missed out on celebrating such an incredible event with my own friends and family (some I had not seen in 20 years). Work and play don't mix well together. I heard the food was good though!

Winnetka Congregational Church wedding: Elizabeth & Daniel

I love this opening shot. Sadly, it is not mine.
August 28th, 2009.
The evening began on the top floor of the Signature Room in the John Hancock building where they had a few drink followed by dinner at Rosebud. Afterwards, Dan took Liz to the lakefront where they walked out on to a pier where he proposed. The photograph was made by Liz's sister who teamed with the sneaky Dan to document his proposal to Liz on August 28th.

Last week's grand opening celebration with wedding industry peeps marked two significant milestones in my career.
In early 2009, I felt itchy and needed a change to my business identity and web site. Knowing I am a better photographer than graphic/web designer, I decided to hire a talented team of people to do the work for me. Cococello, Code 72 and Inkwell Marketing started from the ground up and built me an entirely fresh, new identity and voice for my business.
