Lauren & Michael’s Wedding

Lauren & Mike.  Sigh.  Two absolutely adorable people.  Ya kind of want to get mad at them for being so darn cute.

And to add to the charm they possess?  The two met 11 years ago in high school before the millennium, and shared their first kiss on New Years, 2000.  One.  Two.  Three.  Awe!  I do like that.  I am a sucker for these stories.

Bride and groom in Naperville

Fast forward a LONG time (9 years).  This past June Lauren was just about to move into Mike's apartment.  The entire month he searched high and low for a ring.  Finally, he found one the day she was moving in with him.  They borrowed his sister's truck for the move and he told her the car was having some issues and they had to pull over.  Coincidentally, they were near the area where they shared their first kiss. He shut the car off and asked if she knew where they were.  She said yes and he asked her to get out of the car and kiss him at the same place where they first met.  When she walked around the corner of a couple trees she turned around and Mike was on his knee. Then, the tears came. Once he got her approval and they were now engaged, they proceeded back to his sister's house where their families awaited.  Everyone celebrated.

Nine months later, they got married back in her home town of Naperville on a snowy March afternoon (just two days before it was record heat in Chicago).  However, Lauren braved the constant snow with as much enthusiasm as she owned.  Amazing.  I was freezing, the bridal party was freezing, but Lauren wanted great pictures, and nothing was going to stop her from getting all that she paid for (um, thank you).

While I was slightly miserable and could not feel any of my fingers, I am happy I followed and caught some beautiful imagery for the two of them in the late-spring snow.  Ah, art.

When asked what they like about each other, Lauren says he is "shy, cute and funny."  And Mike says Lauren "will do anything for anyone, is patient and beautiful."

Well, having only spent 8 hours with both of them, I will put my seal of approval on all 6 of those answers.

Thanks Lauren & Mike.  I hope your move to New York City treats you well.

What they Said... [ 1 ]

Looooove the shot of Lauren getting into the car and the one with the bridal party with umbrellas. Fantastic stuff, Kevin!
