Michelle & Matt’s Wedding

Sixteen months away from her wedding, Michelle wrote me requesting information about my wedding photography services. My first reaction was, "Obsessed." But then I realized it wasn't obsessive at all, but planning ahead to beat the rush of bookings. So she was SMART. Still, in February of 2007, my main concern was getting through the last part of winter. Not summer of 2009!
She came over to check out my portfolio and to meet the man who would possibly be trailing her around like a puppy dog for 7 hours on her wedding day. From the minute she walked in to my office, Michelle was all smiles. We hit it off quickly, but honestly, she was so easy-going, full of smiles and laughs, I had a feeling she gets along with everyone. If you ever feel pressured or stressed, call Michelle and have lunch with her. I promise, you will forget everything.
Nearly a year passes, and we don't speak. Not unusual. But, as she was my first booking for the following year, and it was so far out, might she want to ask a lot of questions?
Nope.

She obviously trusted me and my services. That was nice. We reconnected a couple of months before her wedding date to begin talking about details. I mostly forgot about her allure. But when I walked into the Sofitel on June 20th, 2009, I quickly recalled everything I liked about Michelle. My blood pressure dropped till I almost felt sedated.
By the end of the night, I had spent an entire day with two very special people. Michelle was the most grateful bride, and not just because it was her wedding day. She was thankful for her husband (who is a complete goof ball), her relationship with her friends and family, her vendors who put on the show for her, and her photographer who captured it all. Bonus? She is absolutely one of the most beautiful people I have seen in a long time. My reaction is obviously tainted by her personality, but if you can get through these pictures and disagree with me, please, let me know.
Recently, she wrote me a Thank You card. I don't get many of those. But it wasn't a shock Michelle sent one. Most of it was personal, but she did mention one thing that I found somewhat comical. She wrote, "You are such a joy to work with and have such a natural talent for putting everyone at ease so their truest joy can come through … "
Funny, Michelle. I spent this entire Blog post saying the same thing about you. It goes to show: positive attitudes do rub off. She put me at ease, so I felt I could fully be myself with no walls, which put her at ease.
So, we both are guilty.
But, in the end, I thank you. Next up, her wedding album!
