Stefanie & Jakub’s Wedding

There were a lot of tears. A lot.
Stefanie was so excited to marry this man, Jakub. However, just a little more than 4 years ago, when they met, the introduction was a little less … um … tasteful. Jakub was at a bar with his friend, who happened to be Stefanie's brother, when he tried to get a laugh out of the friend by dancing on "this lady" while she wasn't looking. "That lady" happened to be Jakub's friend's sister.
Oy.
Several months later, the joking came to a screeching halt. Stefanie's mother decided to discontinue her chemo treatments. She was devasted, knowing in a few short months, her best friend would be gone.
Jakub grabbed on tight, and held Stefanie through the process. From then on, the two bonded in ways most couples only experience after many years.
Jakub and Stefanie had been talking about marriage for a long time. In fact, she already had her dressed picked out in a bridal mag. Knowing how hard it would be for Stefanie to try on dresses without her mom, Jakub suggested they go together for "fun." As she changed into another gown in the fitting room, Jakub entered and got down on one knee and proposed.

Pretty clever. I would assume this does not happen too often.
There were a lot of tears on her wedding day. But Stefanie took the moments she missed her mother and somehow turned all those tears into a celebration. Her celebration was not only about her wedding with Jakub, but the incredible job Stefanie's mother did providing her with a good, solid soul.
I show a lot of pictures of her crying. Which might not be fair considering she spent a vast majority of the wedding day in full celebratory form. But both these moments seemed so special and appropriate. And it is not often you get to document emotions rooted in such a manner.
Oh, and she did not get "the dress," but she did get "the guy."
