Zolla Lieberman Gallery wedding : Cynthia & Paul
Posted May 24, 2011 / by Kevin / in Weddings / 3 Comments
Last fall, I finally got to meet my wedding clients Cynthia & Paul when we shot their engagement session. I was so moved by the session and what it taught me about myself, my work and my clients. If you recall, I was slightly nervous because I had never met them, nor spoke with them via the phone.
Michelle & Richard’s Wedding

Michelle & Rick planned an urban warehouse wedding in Rockford, Illinois' 7500 square foot raw open space at The Prairie Street Brewhouse. It is an unassuming building located along the river, and like me and my team, found it terribly difficult to find even though it was right in front of us. Really, who gets married in an abandoned building?

Chicago Ritz Carlton wedding: Ashley & Kyle

Ashley & Kyle. So young. So sweet. Photographing the two of them was simple, really. They met at a bar called Prost on January 17th, 2009, dated for 11 months, then celebrated their ceremony to each other on January 22, 2011.
Spending time with the couple during their engagement session and their wedding was filled with incredible laughter between the two (take note of Ashley and her constant smile and laughter) as well as incredible moments of confidence and excitement. Who can’t have a grand time photographing a wedding that is all about celebration?

Chicago Blackstone Hotel wedding: Wendy & PJ

While I enjoy the repetition of venues and knowing how to approach these spaces, this was my first time to the Blackstone Hotel.
When I walked into the bride's suite, there was a lot of energy as the final push to get Wendy ready for the meet-up with her fiancee, PJ. I had to step back and take a deep breathe so I could scan the room and assess each and every hurdle in front of me. The room was spacious, but Wendy was at the farthest reaches of the room, in a corner, with multiple hair and make-up artists standing in the way, annoying portable lighting and heating lamps placed nearby, a massive dining table cluttered with paraphernalia and bridesmaids rotating about to catch a glimpse of Wendy's progress.

Chicago Palmer House wedding: Anne & Travis

My hire for Anne and Travis' wedding was an unusual circumstance. At least for me. Anne contacted me from San Diego while planning her wedding from 2,196 miles away.
How did she hear about me? Keith of Poetic Productions. We chatted for a short bit, and she booked over the phone. I was more or less stunned mainly because it is rare a photographer gets a rec from a videographer and then a simple, seamless booking via the phone.
Site unseen.
For the first time in my career, I get the chance to thank Keith for the kind words and direction he gave Anne. So, thanks again Keith! We all did have a great time, eh?
