TLC’s Four Weddings winner : Missy & Matt

Missy and Matt are more clients handed over from the fan club also known as Roni & Rick who's Chicago wedding I shot 6 years ago along with their Chicago engagement session, through their pregnancy and their baby boy. It sure feels like they will be celebrating their 74th anniversary soon?

As the weather gets even warmer, clients are eager to schedule their engagement sessions. While reviewing some of my sessions from last year, I was struck by the session I shot of Alyssa & Aaron last year before their Chicago wedding held at Salvage One this past May. Mainly because they had one simple requirement: No Chicago iconic backdrops.

The Ritz Carlton in Chicago continues to provide a modern, yet classic, old Hollywood feel that I am really enjoying lately. I am sure the venue hasn't changed much but my style and interests constantly evolve. Coupled with the incredible decor by Richard Remiard's team, the space looked gorgeous.

University Club of Chicago wedding : Trina & Jeff

Trina wanted a small, intimate Chicago wedding. Jeff wanted a WEDDING. The agreement was simple: Jeff had to handle dual roles at one time. While he was technically the groom, he also had to take on what typically is the bride's role and spear-head the planning and most of the decision making.

Ten years ago this past June, I started my own business as a self-employed photographer. I had no clue where I wanted to focus my skills at the time, but I was up for anything to pay the mounting bills. Ten years ago today, Patrick & Libby married and I was their photographer. This, was my first wedding.

I have been anxious to photograph a wedding at the Trump International Hotel and Towers so I can get myself outside on to the terrace to witness the "most incredible and unobstructed view of Chicago."

I am smitten with the Elysian Hotel. It is my second time shooting at the luxury boutique hotel in Chicago's Gold Coast. And I had a gaggle of Polish folks from around the globe to turn up the volume a notch, or three.

Willow Harbor Vineyard Wedding : Timon and Phillip

If a wedding photographer can have fans like the groupies in the 80s screaming their way behind stage at a Quiet Riot concert, then I have found my match.Timon Bernstein contacted me in January of 2010 right after her engagement to Phil (thanks to former 2006 clients for yet ANOTHER referral). She knew nothing about where, how and when, but she was very clear she loved my work and wanted me to be her photographer. Period.

Salvage One wedding photographs : Alyssa & Aaron

I haven't been to Salvage One in about 8 years. I forgot what how fun the space is with all the old trinkets and larger-than-life objects from old Chicago buildings: columns, clocks from the tops of buildings and other architectural decor. It is slightly overwhelming, and slightly intimidating. But refreshing because it has been so long.
