Swisotell wedding: Naomi and Adam

Thanks to a couple of previous (and happy) clients for sending this couple my way, Naomi & Adam didn't have to search too long for their photographer.  Seriously, happy clients make my life easier.

They had already seen my work in its entirety, been briefed about my capabilities and were quite aware (and warned) of my passion for joking around.  In other words, hire me at your own risk.

So, they did.

We started our working relationship with an engagement session this past fall.  I wish all my clients booked an engagement session.  The familiarity my clients gain with me and my routine allows them to relax so much more on their wedding day.  We are like old friends.  OK, maybe not old friends.  But there is less concern about the stranger hiding behind a huge black box following them around like a puppy dog while they walk down the aisle. (hint hint to my booked clients)

Naomi & Adam met 6 years ago while working on a Senate campaign.  Naomi says she knew he was the one from the beginning, but after spending substantial time together during a trip to Israel, "I knew!"

Adam went a tad old school, and slightly traditional (with a twist) when he proposed.  But considering they are both Jewish, his proposal does make sense.  Jews not only have a strong sense of pride for their religion, they also have a strong passion for family.  While on Naomi's family vacation together in Michigan, 17 people surrounded the dining table for the final family dinner.  Naomi's father made his usual toast to the family and honored the annual tradition of their gathering.  Right after the toast, Adam said, "Well since we are talking about family, you all have made me feel part of your family for so long that I think I should make it official." And, then he proposed!  In front of Naomi's entire family.  At dinner.

How sweet and unusual is that?

So after 6 years of dating, the two are now official.  And as usual, their day came and went faster than they can recall (step in Kevin Weinstein Photography to deliver the memories).  But one thing they won't forget about their wedding?  The love and presence of friends and family that travelled all around the globe to celebrate with them.

I just hope none of the guests got stampeded during their Hora like I did.

I am still recovering with a bruise.  Or three.  Did someone say Mosh Pit?
