Sylvia & Marcello: engagement session

Sylvia & Marcello met through a blind date via a mutal friend.
Four years later, the two are going to marry on June 26, 2010. Sylvia was referred to me by a former bride and groom from October of 2004. Funny, it doesn't seem as if I have been shooting weddings longer than 3 years. But 8 years later, I am about to begin my 9th year.
On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, Marcello proposed to Sylvia in their home.

When they began dating, the two of them still lived at home with their parents. They spent the weekends together and made Wednesdays "date night." Usually Sylvia would go over to Marcello's and they would make or order dinner and watch movies. As with most couples, when they moved in together, "date night" slowly disappeared.
The week of September 24th, Marcello planned dinner and a movie for that Wednesday. Sylvia came home from work to flowers and home-made Italian dinner "à la Marcello." She knew something was up and even asked Marcello, "What did you do?" or better yet, "Where do you want to go?" Following dinner, we started watching a wedding-themed movie and at this point she knew something was up. As the movie progressed, Marcello came out with Italian pastries with the ring on the platter and popped the question.
And, of course, Sylvia said yes.
Unfortunately, before Sylvia and Marcello learned about my services, they already booked a photographer to shoot their wedding in June. I am honored they chose me to shoot their engagmeent sesison. Thanks Sylvia & Marcello for allowing me to have a little peak into the next 8 monhts of your engagement.
Have a fantastic wedding.
